So I guess pictures are first this time.....
Our sweet little girl arrived Dec. 7th at 5am. Here's how it all went down. 2am I wake up to a strong contraction and A LOT of pressure. I got up sat on the toilet, layed back in bed, went to the couch, thought maybe getting in the bath would help-it didnt, sat back on the toilet..... repeat this for 1hr and 45min. I could not get myself to relax. I was frustrated with myself. I kept telling myself that I had done this before, for 14 hours I could do it again. I had just barely started into labor and I already was having a hard time relaxing... how was I going to do this all day??? So finally at 3:45am I wake up Josh. I tell him, I am in labor and I am having a hard time relaxing. A contraction comes.... LOTS OF PRESSURE.... the urge to push..... me telling myself JUST RELAX! Josh witnesses this and says... I am calling your mom. He calls my mom (the best doula/mom ever!) and says its go time... keep in mind we are all caught off gaurd my due date wasnt until Dec. 19th. So my mom comes over. When she walks in Josh is folding underwear my mom asks Josh what are you doing??? Josh answers packing Nakina's bag.... yes that is right I didnt have my bags packed... I was so not expecting this to happen so soon. We start timing contractions.... 1 minute apart and really strong hard ones. They decide to call the midwife. I wasnt ready for them to call her yet. The midwife is on the phone and hears me fighting the urge to push in the back ground... and says get here now. I didnt want to go. I thought I was going to get there and she was going to tell me I was only at a 4 or something. Josh calls Grandma Mondt and she comes up to be here with Jex, its probably 4:30a. We drive extremely fast to the birthing center. Apparently Josh didnt want to deliver our baby girl in the car =). We get to the birthing center at 4:40a... Orissa Rayne arrives 20 minutes later... 5am on the dot. It was an eventful morning. Very Intense. Josh was amazing. My mom was amazing. And I was a little out of control. She weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. So teeny tiny. 20 1/2 inches. And as cute as can be. She is such a girl, petite and sweet. (note: giving birth to a 6 lb baby is a lot easier than to an 8lb 1oz baby) The Baby Place (birthing center where she was born) was amazing! I am so so happy that I was there. It was so comfortable and so perfect. I had Orissa on a birthing stool. Its hard to explain but all you need to know that it is the best way to have a baby! We were home by noon. Such a nice transition. Orissa is so healthy and growing like a weed. At 2 weeks she weighed 7lbs 13oz. Yes she loves mommys milk =).
Jex is the best big brother and loves his sister to death. He kisses and cuddles her. And calls her baby Jesus. He is always very concerned when she cries. He is my biggest helper and seems to have grown up over night!
I am sad to say that the demolitian derby has died. But it is fun that we have a "new to us" car. A 2001 Mazda Millenia which is currently not named. The name will have to come to us at the right time.
Josh is done with school for the semester. YAY! He gets a break but will start back up next semester in January. He has been staying busy working and helping out with the kids. He is currently as we speak driving home from the BSU bowl game.
We are all so excited for christmas to be here in just 2 days! Jex is looking forward to Santa coming to his house and bringing lots of presents! Our family received the best christmas present of all in the form of Baby Orissa Rayne!
