Josh's Great Grandma Esther died on Sunday March 18, 2012. She was 83 years old. One thing I will always remember about her is how pretty she was. She was hispanic and had the most beautiful skin ever! I swear that woman didnt even have a wrinkle. amazing. She was so sweet. I always LOVED her. She will be missed. On Thursday the 22nd we were getting ready to go to the viewing as I was getting the kids ready a conversation between Jex and I happened:
Jex: "Mom, where are we going?"
Me: (thinking to myself if he is old enough to talk to about death and decided to go for it....) "Great Grandma Esther went to go live with Heavenly Father in Heaven so we are going to go say goodbye and remember how much we loved her."
Jex: "I am not ready to meet Heavenly Father yet."
Me: "No not yet."
Jex: "well I did see santa claus"
Me: "haha youre right"
Man this kid is hilarious..... fast forward about 1 hour as we are pulling up to the funeral home in Nampa, ID:
Jex: (from the backseat of the car) "So... this is Heaven?"
Josh: "If it is... I'm not going."
hahahahahahah. I guess 3 years old is a little too young for the death talk.
I NEED to be more consistent about posting about these kids. Especially about all of the things Jex says. That kid is comical.
Josh will be finishing up his bachelors at BSU and graduating in December. It was supposed to be after summer school but they cancelled the last class he needs in the summer program so he has to take it in the fall. He will be taking 2 summer school classes and 1 class in the fall and then he will be done. He is preparing to take the GMAT so he can start applying for grad school. exciting. However, I am getting a little nervous thinking about where we will end up and moving there and expenses, him finding a job.... it will all work out. We are preparing for it all now.
We are having another baby GIRL in July! I am due July 7th. So stoked. From the time we found out I was pregnant for some reason I was just so sure it was a boy. We went in for the ultrasound and there SHE was!! I was shocked. It took me a while to get the boy thought out of my head but I am so excited! Orissa and this baby girl will be about 19 months apart. Josh has been calling them the dynamic duo. I was always envious growing up of girls that had a sister close in age. I think this is going to be great. When we told Jex that he was getting another sister he said "girls are ridiculous, but I know she will be pretty" =)
Jex had his 3rd birthday on Feb. 22. 3.... holy smokes. He is such a great little guy. He LOVES his sister Orissa, more commonly known as Reese. They play great together. Jex loves to pretend to shoot the ducks and geese outside. He likes the saying "if it flies, it dies". Last saturday Josh took Jex whistle pig shooting. Jex thought that was probably the greatest thing ever. Those 2 are best friends. Jex loves Daddy. He asks for him pretty much ALL DAY LONG! I keep telling Josh that he should probably be the one staying home since he is being begged for all day.
Orissa is 15 months. Recently, she has been getting in her top molars and a bottom tooth. It has made for a rough couple of days. She is a little fireball. She isnt talking very much. Just saying a couple basic words. No matter how hard we try to get words out of her she just looks at us with a blank stare. No interest apparently. She LOVES Jex. She wants to do everything he does. She sure knows how to push my buttons. Some days she has me pretty close to tears but I wouldnt want her any other way. Jex and Orissa are in bunk beds now. Orissa is doing great sleeping in a big bed. They really like sharing a room. The transition has gone SO MUCH better than I had imagined.
We are going to San Diego the end of May. I am so excited. We got really great deals on the plane tickets and Hotel, Thanks to some great friends =). I just cant wait!!!
