March 29, 2012

Josh's Great Grandma Esther died on Sunday March 18, 2012. She was 83 years old. One thing I will always remember about her is how pretty she was. She was hispanic and had the most beautiful skin ever! I swear that woman didnt even have a wrinkle. amazing. She was so sweet. I always LOVED her. She will be missed. On Thursday the 22nd we were getting ready to go to the viewing as I was getting the kids ready a conversation between Jex and I happened:
Jex: "Mom, where are we going?"
Me: (thinking to myself if he is old enough to talk to about death and decided to go for it....) "Great Grandma Esther went to go live with Heavenly Father in Heaven so we are going to go say goodbye and remember how much we loved her."
Jex: "I am not ready to meet Heavenly Father yet."
Me: "No not yet."
Jex: "well I did see santa claus"
Me: "haha youre right"
Man this kid is hilarious..... fast forward about 1 hour as we are pulling up to the funeral home in Nampa, ID:
Jex: (from the backseat of the car) "So... this is Heaven?"
Josh: "If it is... I'm not going."
hahahahahahah. I guess 3 years old is a little too young for the death talk.

I NEED to be more consistent about posting about these kids. Especially about all of the things Jex says. That kid is comical.

Josh will be finishing up his bachelors at BSU and graduating in December. It was supposed to be after summer school but they cancelled the last class he needs in the summer program so he has to take it in the fall. He will be taking 2 summer school classes and 1 class in the fall and then he will be done. He is preparing to take the GMAT so he can start applying for grad school. exciting. However, I am getting a little nervous thinking about where we will end up and moving there and expenses, him finding a job.... it will all work out. We are preparing for it all now.

We are having another baby GIRL in July! I am due July 7th. So stoked. From the time we found out I was pregnant for some reason I was just so sure it was a boy. We went in for the ultrasound and there SHE was!! I was shocked. It took me a while to get the boy thought out of my head but I am so excited! Orissa and this baby girl will be about 19 months apart. Josh has been calling them the dynamic duo. I was always envious growing up of girls that had a sister close in age. I think this is going to be great. When we told Jex that he was getting another sister he said "girls are ridiculous, but I know she will be pretty" =)

Jex had his 3rd birthday on Feb. 22. 3.... holy smokes. He is such a great little guy. He LOVES his sister Orissa, more commonly known as Reese. They play great together. Jex loves to pretend to shoot the ducks and geese outside. He likes the saying "if it flies, it dies". Last saturday Josh took Jex whistle pig shooting. Jex thought that was probably the greatest thing ever. Those 2 are best friends. Jex loves Daddy. He asks for him pretty much ALL DAY LONG! I keep telling Josh that he should probably be the one staying home since he is being begged for all day.

Orissa is 15 months. Recently, she has been getting in her top molars and a bottom tooth. It has made for a rough couple of days. She is a little fireball. She isnt talking very much. Just saying a couple basic words. No matter how hard we try to get words out of her she just looks at us with a blank stare. No interest apparently. She LOVES Jex. She wants to do everything he does. She sure knows how to push my buttons. Some days she has me pretty close to tears but I wouldnt want her any other way. Jex and Orissa are in bunk beds now. Orissa is doing great sleeping in a big bed. They really like sharing a room. The transition has gone SO MUCH better than I had imagined.

We are going to San Diego the end of May. I am so excited. We got really great deals on the plane tickets and Hotel, Thanks to some great friends =). I just cant wait!!!

Where did Fall go?

I really dont want to complain about the weather because I am happy it is not in the 90's anymore but I was hoping for a little bit of 70's......
JOSH IS IN HIS LAST YEAR AT BSU!!! It is so crazy, when we got married (4 years ago) he told me he had 2 years left of school..... 4 years later he is finishing up his final year of undergrad and applying for grad schools!! I was getting super excited about this being his last year in school then he decided to go to grad school. BUT I am so proud of him. I am just grateful that he is so motivated to get a career that he loves and can provide a comfortable life for his family. No complaints from that guy..ever. He is great.

What a fabulous summer we had!! Carsten got married to Jenna, who we LOVE! We played A LOT of volleyball which we LOVE. Carsten started up a co-ed volleyball team through a city league. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I really love playing sports "for fun" when competition starts I get really nervous! ha! Am I really from a family of 4 boys?!?! or maybe that is why.... our team will consist of Dad, Steen, Carsten, Jenna, Josh, Me, Dane, his super cute gf Jacquel, Logan and Devin (jennas brother, logans best friend).

College football started back up so that seems to consume most of our weekends. Go BSU!

Jex is 2 1/2... it is so crazy I want time to slow down. He is so talkative. I love it. He is my little buddy. We just hang out and chat all.day.long. He totally surprises me sometimes by the things that he knows and says. He is starting to use descriptive words in his sentences now. He is constantly asking when he can go to school by himself.... I dont think I am even ready to start thinking about that right now. He loves to read books, which I love about him. As crazy and active as he is it is so nice that he will sit down and enjoy reading books......
Orissa on the other hand seems to be my wild child. That girl is in to everything!!!! She is 10 months now and crusin around behind her little walker. She is so stinkin cute. She is workin on getting her 4th tooth. She loves to play with Jex and is always really excited when Dad gets home and wants to wrestle. When Josh and Jex are wrestling around you better believe Orissa is getting in on the action as well. The girl loves to eat.... yogurt is her food of choice, but she will eat just about anything. I often hear her playing around just giggling to herself. She growls a lot which is why her lion costume will be perfect for halloween!

We have the best family. Ever.

Jex taking Orissa for a ride on his 4 wheeler!

Josh and I went to the Sac Brown Band concert! It was SOOOO good.

Doesnt he look like such a big boy! This particular day I just kept looking at him thinking...really? thats my little baby boy... he is so big now!

He found some lip gloss

Does life get any better than this? Right now I feel like I am in Heaven. I have an amazing husband and the best kids ever! Yes, Jex has been chronically fussy for what seems like the past 3 months at least, it gets a little overwhelming at times but he immediately makes up for it when he says "mom can I have kisses please" He is so dang cute! Life is just really good right now!

For the first part of the summer he cried pretty much the whole time in the water. He just stood on the steps and cried. 4 cars.... 4 months

Yes, that is correct as of Saturday we bought our 4th car in 4 months.... We bought the Mazda Millenia after my little escort died. Then Josh went to the auto auction and bought a little isuzu truck and sold that after about 6 weeks. Then Josh tried changing the spark plugs on our super charged mazda and it took him 9 HOURS!! yes, to change the spark plugs. So we sold the mazda and got a 2000 Nissan Xterra... which I am in love with. So much in love that I had Josh go back to the auto auction and he bought a 1998 Rodeo. We are car happy =). I am hoping that josh will hang on to this rodeo, he has seemed to really like buying a selling cars. Anyway, other than that we are pretty much doing the same old thing.... well besides JEX IS POTTY TRAINED. WAHOO. He is such a smart little boy. The first of March I did the switcharoo from diapers to underwear (well it was a lot more involved than that) and never looked back. He has done so awesome and is accident free for I dont know how long probably over a month. This includes night time too. Those first few days of training were extremely long and hard but i mean anyone can do something hard for a few days!
Orissa is almost 5 months and has the chubbiest cheeks ever! We love her to pieces. She is rolling over like a champ and cant wait to sit up =). Here are a few pictures from the last few months.

I know what you are thinking... i have the most adorable kids ever!!!
These were from Easter.

I wasnt kidding about the cheeks!

We took full advantage of the 2 days we had that were nice and went to the park. We are so excited for warm weather to arrive!

Jex loves his baby sister so much he always wants to get her out of her carseat. As you can tell she is very fond of him as well.

He was a sick potty training little boy for a few days. He got the flu 3 days after starting to potty train but we worked through it. I wasnt giving up for anything!

On February 22, 2011 this good lookin boy turned 2. I cant believe it has been 2 years since I fell in love with this little boy. He made me a mom, ane he is mine. He has being 2 down pat. He knows how to throw worldest worst fit at the worst time! (is there really a good time for fit throwing?) He loves his baby sister. He loves to kiss her, take baths with her and fight over her with dad. Speaking of dad, he loves his dad. He loves watching dad play soccer and looks forward to dad getting home everyday. He is pretty studly. He is tough, he loves riding the 4 wheelers, and doing anything with balls. He has gone potty in his little pot which was a lot more exciting for me than him :). We will be potty training full force come march 1st wahoooo! wish me luck.
We had his birthday party with family on monday and of course we didnt get pictures of that but i am pretty sure josh video taped the whole night. ha! You will just have to take my word for it... he is extremely spoiled.
On his birthday we met dad at red robin for lunch, came home and had a nap. then met Scott and Jakel and Scarlet at just kidn around. We had to get scarlet and jex together since they share a birthday and are pretty much bff's. Jex had so much fun there. I am sure we will be going back someday soon. Then the Stricklers treated us to U-Swirl which was delish. What a fun birthday for the 2 year old!!!! Here are some pics of the big day.
Just came down the slide. Watching the other kids play.
Showing mom the helicopter.

His awesome new trike from Dad and Mom.

Its pretty tiring being 2.

What a blessing this boy has been to me. I couldnt have asked for a better little guy. He has the funnest personality. I love hanging out with him everyday. He makes my days much happier. I love being his mommy. He makes my heart melt every time he says i love you mommy. He is a wild, crazy, rough, little boy and I wouldnt want it any other way. I cant wait to see what this year has in store for us!
I love you with all my heart Jex Joshua Lujan.

Orissa Rayne Lujan

So I guess pictures are first this time.....
The Birthday Boy! 25 we can finally rent a car!!!!
Littly Bitty just 3 days old (daddys birthday)

Jex lovin on santa =)
Monkey Bizness slide

The one and only elephant on halloween

Our sweet little girl arrived Dec. 7th at 5am. Here's how it all went down. 2am I wake up to a strong contraction and A LOT of pressure. I got up sat on the toilet, layed back in bed, went to the couch, thought maybe getting in the bath would help-it didnt, sat back on the toilet..... repeat this for 1hr and 45min. I could not get myself to relax. I was frustrated with myself. I kept telling myself that I had done this before, for 14 hours I could do it again. I had just barely started into labor and I already was having a hard time relaxing... how was I going to do this all day??? So finally at 3:45am I wake up Josh. I tell him, I am in labor and I am having a hard time relaxing. A contraction comes.... LOTS OF PRESSURE.... the urge to push..... me telling myself JUST RELAX! Josh witnesses this and says... I am calling your mom. He calls my mom (the best doula/mom ever!) and says its go time... keep in mind we are all caught off gaurd my due date wasnt until Dec. 19th. So my mom comes over. When she walks in Josh is folding underwear my mom asks Josh what are you doing??? Josh answers packing Nakina's bag.... yes that is right I didnt have my bags packed... I was so not expecting this to happen so soon. We start timing contractions.... 1 minute apart and really strong hard ones. They decide to call the midwife. I wasnt ready for them to call her yet. The midwife is on the phone and hears me fighting the urge to push in the back ground... and says get here now. I didnt want to go. I thought I was going to get there and she was going to tell me I was only at a 4 or something. Josh calls Grandma Mondt and she comes up to be here with Jex, its probably 4:30a. We drive extremely fast to the birthing center. Apparently Josh didnt want to deliver our baby girl in the car =). We get to the birthing center at 4:40a... Orissa Rayne arrives 20 minutes later... 5am on the dot. It was an eventful morning. Very Intense. Josh was amazing. My mom was amazing. And I was a little out of control. She weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. So teeny tiny. 20 1/2 inches. And as cute as can be. She is such a girl, petite and sweet. (note: giving birth to a 6 lb baby is a lot easier than to an 8lb 1oz baby) The Baby Place (birthing center where she was born) was amazing! I am so so happy that I was there. It was so comfortable and so perfect. I had Orissa on a birthing stool. Its hard to explain but all you need to know that it is the best way to have a baby! We were home by noon. Such a nice transition. Orissa is so healthy and growing like a weed. At 2 weeks she weighed 7lbs 13oz. Yes she loves mommys milk =).

Jex is the best big brother and loves his sister to death. He kisses and cuddles her. And calls her baby Jesus. He is always very concerned when she cries. He is my biggest helper and seems to have grown up over night!
I am sad to say that the demolitian derby has died. But it is fun that we have a "new to us" car. A 2001 Mazda Millenia which is currently not named. The name will have to come to us at the right time.

Josh is done with school for the semester. YAY! He gets a break but will start back up next semester in January. He has been staying busy working and helping out with the kids. He is currently as we speak driving home from the BSU bowl game.

We are all so excited for christmas to be here in just 2 days! Jex is looking forward to Santa coming to his house and bringing lots of presents! Our family received the best christmas present of all in the form of Baby Orissa Rayne!
